Privacy Policy — Checkout Required

Effective date: August 28, 2026

Checkout Required ("the Service") is operated by Digital Commerce Corporation and its affiliated brands, including DigiCom (together, the "Company"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it — including for marketing — and the controls you have.

1. What we collect

  • Account & profile: name, email, username, headline, company, role, vertical, revenue and ad-spend bands, bio, links, avatar.
  • Content: posts, comments, wall posts, introductions, job listings, group content, event RSV닝 activity, saves, mentions, reports.
  • Messages: your direct messages are stored to deliver them — see Section 4 for how differently we treat them.
  • Usage & device: pages viewed, actions taken, directory access activity (logged with a salted hash of your IP, pruned after 30 days), approximate device/browser info, and email engagement (opens/clicks) via our email partners.
  • From partners: delivery and subscription status from our email/newsletter providers.

2. How we use it

  • To run the Service: accounts, feeds, notifications, connections, messaging, moderation, security, and support.
  • To grow the community: analytics, product improvement, and understanding which content and features work.
  • For marketing — broadly, and we want to be plain about it: by joining or subscribing you agree that the Company may use your contact information and profile and activity data to send you marketing about Checkout Required and other Company brands and offerings (including DigiCom); to personalize what we promote to you; to feature your public content in our marketing with attribution; and to build advertising audiences — including uploading hashed contact information to advertising and marketing platforms (for example, Meta, Google, LinkedIn, or our email/CRM tools) to reach you and people like you.
  • Legal & safety: enforcing our Terms, preventing abuse, and complying with law.

3. Who we share it with

  • Within the Company family (Digital Commerce Corporation and its affiliated brands) for the purposes above.
  • Service providers who run our infrastructure and communications — hosting and database, email delivery, newsletter platform, event registration, advertising and analytics platforms — bound to use data only to provide their services.
  • Other members and the public: your profile (subject to your band-visibility toggle), your public content, and your attribution on listings and posts are visible as part of how the Service works. The member directory is available to signed-in members only and is rate-limited and monitored against bulk collection.
  • Legal: when required by law or to protect the Community.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some U.S. laws define "sharing" for targeted advertising broadly; to the extent our advertising uses qualify, you may opt out at any time by emailing info@digicom.io with "ad opt-out," and we will exclude your information from advertising audiences.

4. What we never do

  • We never read or use your direct messages. Access is technically restricted at the database — staff cannot browse DMs. The only DM content any moderator can ever see is the short excerpt attached when a participant files a report. DM content is never used for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond delivering your messages and handling reports you file.
  • We never expose your individual revenue or ad-spend bands in marketing. Aggregate community statistics only (e.g., "our members manage $200M+ in ad spend"). If you hide your bands, they stay hidden.
  • We never permit third parties to scrape or buy member lists.

5. Email controls

Transactional email keeps the Service working. Newsletter and marketing email are yours to control: per-type toggles in your account settings, an unsubscribe link in every non-essential email, and a one-click pause-all that works even logged out. Opting out of marketing never affects your membership.

6. Retention & deletion

Content you delete is retired from view but retained internally (moderation, integrity, backups; routine backups cycle on roughly a 7-day window). Directory access logs prune after 30 days. To close your account, email info@digicom.io: we deactivate promptly, remove your profile and personal identifiers within 30 days, and anonymize surviving posts ("former member"). Some records survive deletion where the law or our legitimate interests require (e.g., moderation and audit history).

7. Security

Access controls are enforced at the database layer with least-privilege permissions, private storage, and audited staff actions, and the platform has undergone repeated independent security review. No system is perfect; report concerns to info@digicom.io.

8. Age

The Service is for adults 18+. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Exercise any of them via info@digicom.io; we'll verify and respond as the law requires. We don't discriminate for exercising rights.

10. Changes

We'll post updates here and flag material changes on the Service or by email.
